Robot Sensor

Key 'sensors' of robot technology
Sensors are the core and main component of robot technology. The robot's sensors correspond to the five human senses. A robot without a sensor is like a metal ball that cannot react to the external environment at all. Conversely, the higher the performance or the more diverse sensors are installed, the more sensitive they can react to various stimuli. The range of awareness of the surrounding situation increases and the speed of reaction increases. In light of the definition of "automatically responding to changes in the external environment," sensors are so important that they are the eyes and ears of the robot.

Key Sensors

  • LiDAR Sensor : LiDAR is the eye of AMR. LiDAR, which stands for "Light Detection and Ranging," has the same meaning as laser radar. Unlike ordinary radars that use radio waves, it is easy to understand when considering a radar that uses light. LiDAR can be used for various purposes, including the distance between a body and a target object, the speed and direction in which it moves, and the temperature measurement. In particular, it is possible to acquire 3D images of space by combining measured geographic information such as GPS with precise drawing of a geographic feature. This has become an indispensable technology for autonomous robots and automobiles.
