APPLICATION ENVIRONMENT

AMRs Must Fit
the Flow of the Site

Robowink first reviews movement routes, worker density, changing obstacles, and higher-level system integration conditions in logistics and manufacturing environments before assessing AMR applicability.

More important than simply asking whether a robot can move are the conditions that repeatedly occur in real operations, such as crossing traffic, narrow aisles, carts, forklifts, worker entry, and changing loads.

Deployment Principle
Existing safety sensors and navigation technologies remain the foundation. Where needed, the DVS+SNN Safety Module can be added as an assistive perception layer to strengthen response to dynamic risks.

WHERE IT FITS

Representative Application Environments

We focus on environments where AMR deployment can deliver meaningful benefits and where DVS+SNN-based dynamic-risk perception can provide additional value.

01
LOGISTICS

Logistics Centers & Warehouses

Suitable for repeated transport of materials, parts, and finished goods across inbound, storage, picking, and outbound zones.

  • Repeated transport routes
  • Areas shared by workers and carts
  • Workload variations by time of day
02
MANUFACTURING

Manufacturing Plants & Production Lines

Applicable to repetitive production logistics such as inter-process parts supply, work-in-process transport, and empty-container return.

  • Scheduled inter-process transport
  • Line changes and product-mix variation
  • Areas shared by equipment and workers
03
MIXED TRAFFIC

Mixed Traffic with People, Carts & Forklifts

Dynamic situation awareness is especially important at intersections, aisles, and entrances where moving objects appear more frequently than fixed obstacles.

  • Sudden worker entry
  • Crossing carts and forklifts
  • Areas with recurring occlusion and congestion
04
FLEXIBLE OPERATION

Frequently Changing Layouts

In environments where production cells, load positions, and aisle conditions change frequently, flexible mobile automation can be more suitable than fixed conveyors.

  • Equipment relocation
  • Temporary load placement
  • Route changes and expansion
SITE CHECKPOINTS

Site Conditions to Review Before Deployment

AMR applicability often depends more on site conditions than on robot specifications. We use the following checkpoints during the initial site review.

01

Movement Routes

Review origins, destinations, repeated routes, crossing points, turning radius, and aisle width.

02

Payload

Review the AMR platform based on load size, weight, height, and loading/unloading method.

03

Dynamic Objects

Review how frequently workers, carts, forklifts, and other moving objects appear and from which directions they approach.

04

Floor & Slope

Review flooring, level differences, slopes, thresholds, and other conditions affecting driving stability.

05

Network Environment

Review Wi-Fi/Ethernet network quality and integration requirements for fleet-management and higher-level systems.

06

Operational Goals

Define real operating KPIs first, including throughput, operating time, charging method, and bottleneck areas.

DVS + SNN SAFETY ASSIST

For Areas with Frequent Dynamic Risks,
Consider an Additional Perception Layer

Rather than replacing safety devices such as Safety LiDAR or bumpers, this approach uses DVS-based event sensing and SNN temporal inference to assist situational awareness in areas with significant motion changes.

FIT CHECK

AMR Is Worth Evaluating When These Conditions Apply

If several of the following conditions apply, a site survey and PoC can be used to evaluate feasibility in more detail.

Frequent repetitive transport of materials and parts
A high share of worker time is spent on simple transport tasks
Production or logistics layouts change frequently
People and mobile equipment share the same aisles
Expanding fixed conveyors is difficult
You want better visibility into material flow and operation data
